WHERE I COME FROM

Background

My roots in our community run deep. I was born in West Valley City at Pioneer Valley Hospital. I attended Monroe Elementary in West Valley City, John C. Fremont Elementary in Taylorsville, and Eisenhower Jr. High. I Graduated from Taylorsville High School. I played on the Eisenhower Golf Team and the Taylorsville Tennis Team.

While working full-time and raising a family, I attended college at SLCC and the University of Phoenix, graduating in 2003 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management.

I built my first home in Taylorsville in 1992, moved to West Jordan in 1995 to help with my deceased sister's children for a few years, and finally moved back home to Taylorsville in June of 2000. I brought my family back because I wanted my children to grow up in the same neighborhoods, attend the same great schools, and learn to love the same good people that have made the Taylorsville/West Valley City area home for me for over 30 years.

Growing up, I worked at Meadow Brook Golf Course. My adult career has been in early childhood education. I started working in a small family-owned child care center in every capacity, from a classroom teacher to a before and after school program coordinator, to the center director. I took over the business and eventually grew that small center for 30 children in Taylorsville into ABC Great Beginnings, Inc., Utah's largest, locally owned, child care and preschool company.
